Elene Kintsurashvili is a program coordinator at GMF East. Based in the Warsaw office, she works on research and convening activities that foster transatlantic cooperation related to the region.
Prior to joining GMF, Elene worked as an assistant to the Deputy-Secretary General at the Parliament of Georgia. Elene received her master’s degree in European Interdisciplinary studies from the College of Europe and was awarded with an honorary bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Vistula University. Her areas of expertise include NATO/EU vis-à-vis Eastern Neighborhood matters, the Caucasus region and Georgian domestic politics.
Elene is fluent in Georgian, English and Russian, she speaks Polish with working proficiency and has a basic knowledge of French.
Marta Prochwicz-Jazowska is a program manager in the Warsaw office. She is responsible for coordinating and managing various German Marshall Fund activities in Warsaw. She closely monitors and writes on issues related to Polish foreign policy with an emphasis on Poland’s role in Europe, in the war in Ukraine and Polish-American relations. Before joining GMF, on behalf of the Polish government, Prochwicz-Jazowska worked with American universities (such as Yale, Harvard, UCLA) on cultural exchange programs. Previously, she worked for the Polish Permanent Representation to the EU. She also gained experience at the EU Commission, the EU Delegation to Peru, and NATO. Prochwicz-Jazowska holds a master’s degree in international studies and diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies and a B.A. from University College London. She grew up in Canada, Poland, and Austria and has a French education.
Michał Baranowski is a managing director of GMF East. He was previously a senior fellow and the director of GMF's Warsaw office.
Baranowski provides overall strategic direction and leadership for the organization’s work in Poland, the Baltic states, and the V4 countries. He writes and speaks extensively on NATO, transatlantic relations, and US foreign policy, and is frequently quoted in outlets such as Associated Press, Financial Times, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Die Welt, Rzeczpospolita, Reuters, Axios, Le Soir, The Washington Post, and Foreign Affairs. He publishes in Polish, American, and European media and policy journals.
Baranowski is a member of the Polish-German reflection group established by presidents of Poland and Germany. He holds a master's degree in European public affairs from Maastricht University, and has studied at Mercer University in the United States and at the University of Oxford.
