GMF is launching an initiative to harness its research, networks, and convening capacity to chart a path for securing allied competitiveness in the 21st century. GMF will offer insights into and proposals for strengthening the ability of Europe, the United States, and their partners to compete in a rapidly shifting global economic environment.
Our goal is to ensure that the policymakers’ decisions do not undermine the collective competitiveness of democracies to the benefit of authoritarian rivals or heighten tensions among allies. We will emphasize “allied” measures, actions that are mutually reinforcing, complementary, and politically practical. They will also deepen bonds among allies, and strengthen domestic and international confidence in the liberal democratic, free-market model while helping to usher in a green transition and an era of decarbonization.
