Alexandra-Maria Ghioc is a program coordinator for the Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation.

Laura Hope Gammell-Ibañez is GMF’s corporate secretary and chief of staff. She supports GMF President Heather A. Conley, oversees the relationship with the organization’s board of trustees, and contributes to GMF’s analyses of the transatlantic relationship, especially those on German-US relations.

Gammell-Ibañez previously worked as a private consultant for small US businesses active in European markets and, before that, as a professional equestrian on the US east coast and in Germany.

She holds a master’s degree in European and Eurasian Studies from The George Washington University’s Elliott School for International Affairs a bachelor’s degree in German studies from Connecticut College. She is a 2019 recipient of the Marshall Award for Excellence and speaks fluent German. 

Maria Florea is a program officer, overseeing Black Sea Trust’s grantmaking portfolio in Romania and GMF’s Leadership Programs’ Alumni Leadership Action Projects portfolio, designs programs, and serves as the city coordinator for the Marshall Memorial Fellowship program. She has a master’s degree in European governance from the University of Bristol and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Vienna. She speaks English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian in addition to her native Romanian.

Franka Ellman was formerly Program Officer, Transatlantic Programming at GMF.
