Fiona Evans is a resident senior fellow at GMF and minister counselor in the US senior foreign service. She served overseas most recently as the deputy chief of mission in Addis Ababa and as the consul general in Düsseldorf. Her other overseas assignments included tours in US embassies in Berlin, Dushanbe, Lima, Nairobi, Pristina, and Reykjavik. Her domestic assignments have included posts in the office of the secretary of state, the State Department’s Economic Affairs Bureau, and the Foreign Service Institute. She has been a board member for several organizations including the International School of Düsseldorf and the Fulbright commissions in Germany and Iceland.
Prior to joining the US foreign service, Evans was a mediator in the Massachusetts attorney general’s office. She holds a master of arts and diplomacy degree from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
