Access to reliable information is crucial in the middle of a pandemic. Yet, the World Health Organization is currently warning of an “infodemic” of false information on the coronavirus. From “trojan horse” outlets to personalized propaganda, our information ecosystem is vulnerable to widespread disinformation. In this webinar we will hear from GMF’s Ellen Goodman and Karen Kornbluh on their Five Steps to Combat the Infodemic and Roadmap for Safeguarding Digital Democracy and FEC Commissioner Ellen Weintraub on her proposals to limit the harm from micro-targeted ads.

New York Times journalist Emily Bazelon will moderate.
