The year 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, when the foundations were laid for a strong partnership between Europe and the United States, which endures in domains as diverse as trade, security, science, and culture. But this partnership cannot be taken for granted. The lessons of the past must serve as a source of inspiration to preserve transatlantic relations for the next generation. What priorities lie ahead for U.S.-EU and U.S.-Belgian relations? Which risks do transatlantic relations face, and which policy solutions are needed? Which lessons of the past do we need to remember to secure the success of this partnership in the future? How can we communicate the value of transatlantic relations to the next generations on both sides of the Atlantic?
