On behalf of the Transatlantic Democracy Working Group (TDWG) and the German Marshall Fund of the United States, we would like to invite you to this virtual conversation with Congressman David Price and Ambassador Norm Eisen. The speakers will discuss the role of Congress in shaping and strengthening the U.S. democracy agenda, including President Biden’s proposed 2021 democracy summit. The proposed summit builds on the new U.S. administration’s commitment to enhance democracy at home and abroad. The events of January 6 only heighten the need to address threats to democracy. The speakers will look at the central role that U.S. congress will play in the development, contours, and implementation of a revamped democracy agenda that requires input and support from the American public and like-minded international partners.
We hope you can join us for this important discussion which is an opportunity to hear directly from Congressman David Price, one of the leading congressional advocates for advancing democracy and chairman of the House Democracy Partnership, and from Ambassador Norm Eisen, a top expert on democracy promotion and co-author of The Democracy Playbook.
