Please join the German Marshall Fund of the United States for an address and conversation with Valdis Dombrovskis, executive vice president of the European Commission for An Economy that Works for People and trade commissioner since October 2020.

After the inauguration of President Joe Biden, the United States and the European Union are set to renew the transatlantic relationship. The European Commission in December proposed a forward-looking transatlantic agenda "A new EU-US agenda for global change” which calls on the U.S. for close cooperation on economy, trade, technology, standards, ensuring future prosperity, and overcoming common challenges such as climate change and the coronavirus. In his address and during the conversation that follows, Valdis Dombrovskis will share his vision a new era of cooperation with the United States and address topics including trade disputes, cooperation in the WTO, technology, transatlantic cooperation on addressing China, as well as labor.

This conversation seeks to link Brussels with Washington DC. Please come ready to submit your questions during the Question and Answer session. If there are questions you wish to pose in advance, please email Kristine Berzina at [email protected]
