Please join us at the German Marshall Fund for a timely briefing and discussion on the digital technology priorities of the incoming European Commission under President Ursula von der Leyen. The new commissioners will assume office on November 1.
In her mission letter to Executive Vice President-Designate Margrethe Vestager, European Commission President-elect Ursula von der Leyen stressed the need to strengthen the EU’s industry and innovation capacity as well as its technological leadership and strategic autonomy. What will a “Europe fit for the Digital Age” entail? What will the competition priorities be? What will the Digital Services Act encompass? And what will these changes mean for the transatlantic relationship?
This roundtable is the next in a series run by the Digital Innovation & Democracy Initiative. The initiative leverages GMF’s extensive networks to develop strategies that advance innovation and strengthen democratic values.
