As part of its Future of American Power series, The German Marshall Fund of the United States is pleased to invite you to a conversation with national security expert and New York Times best selling author P.W. Singer. He will discuss his latest book Burn-In: A Novel of the Real Robotic Revolution. Blending nonfiction research with fictional narrative, this technothriller tells the story of a hunt for a terrorist, all the while teaching about AI and its effect on politics and security.
GMF fellow Lindsay Gorman will provide a response to the novel and its depiction of tech in politics, economics, and everyday life. GMF executive vice president Derek Chollet will moderate this conversation, which will discuss how AI and robotics impact national security and explore the role of fiction in imagining the future.
