About this event
A Book Conversation with Colin Dueck
Speaker
- Colin Dueck, Professor in the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University; Visiting Scholar, American Enterprise Institute
Moderator
- Derek Chollet, Executive Vice President and Senior Advisor for Security and Defense Policy, The German Marshall Fund of the United States
The German Marshall Fund of the United States is pleased to invite you to a discussion of Colin Dueck’s latest book, Age of Iron: On Conservative Nationalism. Dueck, a leading authority on Republican foreign policy, dispels the notion that Donald Trump’s foreign policy is a historical aberration, arguing instead that the president’s worldview is part of a long-held tradition of conservative nationalist foreign policy. GMF Executive Vice President Derek Chollet will moderate this discussion, which will examine whether conservative nationalism is compatible with international engagement, evaluate the current state of GOP foreign policy, and consider whether Trump's approach to global affairs will endure after he leaves office.
