GMF policy initiatives bring together people and resources from both sides of the Atlantic to address how the United States and Europe can work together on common interests and shared challenges. They are designed to increase transatlantic cooperation and decrease tension around difficult issues, and are carried out by both GMF and partner institutions. Such initiatives include supporting key institutions working on transatlantic issues, convening policymakers in a variety of forums, supporting in-house scholars, conducting transatlantic public opinion surveys, and developing issue-related projects such as the Immigration and Integration program, the Economic Policy program, and the Balkan Trust for Democracy.
GMF staff and fellows are increasingly sought out by politicians, journalists, and the public to comment on or provide a context for particular policy challenges facing the United States and Europe.
